Try what Ross said to get an idea how much of a difference you have. You could try a little more sanding but my experience is that in the lighter color woods the resin soaked areas will show and there's not much you can do now. I have found the best way to fill is with small pieces of wood and not epoxy. If I have to fill with epoxy I wait until I'm ready for the resin coat just prior to glassing. Hope this helps.
