Okay, I know it's not exactly USCG-kosher, but I built my own PFD. I took the good PVC foam from an old Stearns ski vest and built a new body for it. I used my Lotus Rio Grande as a rough pattern, but I added more lash tabs, larger pockets, a tow belt, and a long back pocket to hold a camelbak bladder.

I still need to add the quick-release "ripcord" to the camlock buckle on the tow belt.
