:Ed, i too like the Lightning's but the weight is not the same. The Lightnings that are the same price weigh in at 33oz and have all e-glass poles. The Whetstones are 25oz and are carbon/glass poles and blades with s -glass on the blade tips.
I'm looking to buy my second paddle. My research shows that for about the
: same price and weight, you can get either a Lightning (either Standard or
: Offshore model) or the Whetstone.
: So the question comes down to which style is better for your use (a smooth
: power face or a dihedral design?). I haven't decided yet!
