In Response To: ryobi ROS and wood flour (John Waddington)

: My old random orbital sander died so I purchased a new one. I got a Ryobi
: sander. It vibrates so much my hands get sore in minutes and even worse,
: its dust collection container doesn't hold the dust. Has anyone else had
: problems with these sanders?

: I have sanded my hull, but now have no wood flour for filler (there is lots
: on my walls, floor, shelves, etc., though). I have a few small gaps on the
: outside of the hull that I would like to fill between the white cedar
: strips. I seem to remember someone suggesting baking flour or corn starch
: or something similar. Any suggestions?

: John

I have a Ryobi ROS. It also doesnt get the dust in the bag. try a vacuum hookup.

about the filler, you can use plain ordinary flour instead of using silica. tends to work pretty well and provides an amber colored filler when thickened up alot.
