Taping the inside of a kayak hull has always struck me as more trouble than it's worth,IMHO, if not completely wrong-headed. A Sheer clamp, say 1x1 or perhaps a bit less, the length of the hull, either inside the hull or outside, to glue and screw the deck onto from the outside makes for a more relaxed project and is probably strong enough if not stronger. Just a suggestion.
