I can see how the tape is lighter. On the next boat, I'll put a sheer clamp the last 16" or so, and tape where I can reach it. To fix this one, I reached in with a pull saw and cut open the bad spots, trimming away as much as I could of the tape. Then I did fillets over the bad spots. I figure the fillets are at least as strong as the tape. Alternatively, I dont think it'd be too bad to saturate a 24" pc of tape, and roll it into each end, then do the middle section. The problem was having both sides hot-melted into place and trying to googe one side whilst not googing the other...
