Check the archive. Past posts warn that acetone is reclaimed and may not be pure i.e. contain oils. Which could cause fisheyes in subsequent coats of epoxy.

I prefer lacquer thinner to alcohol because it cuts better. I used it to remove glue from the clear fiberless packing tape.

I'm paranoid about residues left by a solvent wipe so I sand and wash with ammonia water followed with a good rinse.
