Yeah, Im not worried about the seams. I am concerned about the rest of the boat, which had lines of sticky goo on it. Simple Green did OK, but I'd be more comfortable with something stronger. I'll try the alcohol, applied externally of course.

: and it worked fine. When you pull off the tape, some of the filaments
: don't want to come off with the tape and remain stuck to the hull, which
: is a nuisance. I used a razor blade to get these stragglers off, then
: cleaned the surface with acetone to remove the residue. I think you would
: find that strapping tape does a better job than the pallet straps you
: suggested. In deck/hull mis-match areas, the strapping tape will help pull
: the hull outward as well as push the deck inward; the pallet straps would
: only push the deck inward, and you'd probably have to put some sticks
: across the inside of the hull to force it out.

: Remember that you will be sanding the exterior joint prior to taping it. Any
: left-over residue from either the tape or the Goo-Gone (or whatever you
: use) will get sanded off. It just may clog your sandpaper quicker than you
