This is my inverted Outer Island. I didn't use cove-and-bead strips. I stripped over the top (top in an inverted sense) of the inner stem form and rough-planed the keel for the outer stem lay-ups. I then notched the strips with a knife and file to accept the half-width strip running down the keel. The half-width strip is sitting a bit high compared to the planed area so that the next strips to be laid have a small place for the (very thin) fitted end to go. The outer stem laminations cover up the ugly intersection of these 3 strips.
I, too, scratched my head on this one. We just have to figure it out on the fly, because the keel won't come together the same way twice...
