By all means use it!!! It may be some of the most beautiful wood you've ever seen--if it's an antique, you won't likely find anything like that today--if you bought it recently, what a find!!!

I used a clear cedar 4x4 for a lot of my hull. It had a lot of color variation that doesn't blend well from a distance, but from up close, the figuring is amazing!
