: Hi Mike
I am a marathon paddler from start and I race 1-2 times a year. I am not a top paddler more like in the middle, but it is fun. So my paddle style is a race style. But for the last years I have joined a seakayak club. And done some seakayaking. So my last boat is a more stable, load carrying, high seas kayak. The bow is actually not very full but the kayak has more rocker (for maneuverability) So yes the bow looks fuller (it is wider). My race designs has less rocker and a finer entry but the same (or even more) buoyancy (in the bow). But yes a wider bow will ride the waves better. It is interesting that both you and Lee could se that the bow is fuller the different is not very big compared to my other designs. This one has a cp of 0.51 and is a 50% boat my other design has a cp of 0,57 and is a 53% boat. OK you and Lee are pros but anyhow.
He He I think this kayak is a tank compared to my other designs. The cockpit is really roomy I am 1.74m tall and my feet's are 0.240m. The cockpit opening is 0.84x0.41. but I am using a higher seat more like a race seat. I like to do lean turns and this kayak turns very good when it is leaned. I like knee supports to. I am trying to design some nice knee supports.
BTW I like John Winters I think his new QCC kayaks looks really nice and I hope that they sell a lot of them
Hans
