: you will have the blade kerf to deal with. : Rehd Stan, you can always use 5/8 inch strips. I am building a Guillemot 17 using 3/4 inch strips, but my next one will be with 5/8 strips. On the bandsaw: if you have one that will cut real, real straight then use it. I used my ShopSmith bandsaw and am paying for it in extra labor and time. The strips came out with uneven thickness. Then when I milled the bead and coves, they were not true. I wasted some material and a lot of time and labor. Make you strips as true as you can and the job will go a lot better.
