: steaming the cherry or boiling it in a pan (made from a section of aluminum
: gutter) is a way of explaining to the cherry you would like to do
: something with it that it does not want to do. And it depends on the grain
: of the board you cut if it will ever decide to cooperate. good luck and
: what other wood do you have handy for the combing? BUT you can get it to
: go where you want it if you try enough times and high pressure steaming in
: ammonia (DEADLY) will get it to work if you want to build a chamber for
: it........David Barrett
Not sure where I heard it, but, do you think vinegar will work. I seem to recall someone saying once that they had used vinegar to soak the wood and then bend it. ???? Not so deadly, but, may discolor the wood a bit.???
And....I've also heard that there are instances when a piece of wood can be just too far gone to rehydrate. O.K., I know, no bubble bursting allowed. :(
