O.K., I just got more firster hand info on bending with Ammonia and Vinegar. Yes, both will work, But......... the wood is rendered unusable( sorta ) as both chemicals damage the wood and cause a drop off in effective strength. Probably due to something like Jerry mentioned in the posts above. ??? I don't know......heck, I just work here. I know for a fact that in a science class once, we soaked pencils in something, boiled them and then took them out and tied them in knots. Don't know what it was, but, the pencils turned into rubber and then turned brittle. I seen it!!
