Actually they are brass nails - customer called for dated look, no graphics, enlarged cockpit, flared coaming (won't use a skirt), faux ribs, satin finish, hammer marks and sanding scratches preferred - it killed me - I had a hard time with this kayak (emotionally!)
On a side note: the satin finish is actually a very nice touch - it definitely imparts a "warmth" to the kayak that you can't get with high gloss.
