Some interesting information. Thanks.

My home built sawmill is based on a Johnsered 625. It is about 75% complete - angle iron and threaded bar construction [don't own a welder yet] with an aluminum skid plate. Plan on cutting basswood [linden] into kayak strips.

I had a worn crosscut chain re-sharpened for ripping. It was well worth the $7.00 they charged to re-shape/sharpen it professionally. Don't remember the angle used.
