Travis Looks like a good job you did. I've flitch cut large pine and oak trees with 066 Stihl (92cc), 32 inch bar with Granberg will cut a little more than 26 inches. I don' do mill lumber all the time so I bought a "little" (for ripping wide) 066 because I didn't want to lift anything bigger all day and I also use it for firewood and storm damage cleanup too. When ripping wood I take a lot of breaks to let her cool, keep chains sharp-sharp and not allow gas or oil to get low, place wedges, breathe etc. Take your time or you'll burn up that purdy saw. For wide rip cuts you need horsepower and lots of it, running 'em full HP for minutes at a time creates a lot of heat. Since you didn't ask, I'll offer a little advice. For thin planks chainsaws waste a lot of wood, turns it into sawdust ya know. For me a scrub plane comes in handy to straighten an occasional bump on guide face before tranfering it to the next cut too. Also, so happens I've never cut a tree that grew near a dwelling, that didn't have two or more nails. I still enjoy it. Good luck and take care of your lungs, ears and eyes, don't waste wood, milling it's not all the fun, caring for it after it's cut takes skills and work too.
