Thats a really good question. Compression or abrasion resistance... Ive only read that it adds as a protective element to the epoxy/glass coating. I know quite a few people have done it to their yaks [along the keel lines]... but I dont know anyone who's tested it for either protection!! Frankly, to my way of thinking, adding anything that would cause voids in the epoxy [by suspending graphite powder particles] would seem to weaken its overall bond - but a lot of people push it as a strentgthing medium to add to their coats and I never heard a down side to their argument - except that its a less than attractive grey black "color".
