Hi All

This is information to help anyone looking for lumber that's just a bit cheaper and needs a bit more work from you to make it usable. I mentioned my board straightener a couple of days ago and was asked to send a few sketches and description of how to build and use it. Sorry it's taken so long to get it out, but, the days ( work ) are long lately and the heat has taken it's tole on this ole man. Well, that and I don't have a Web Page to put it on or the knowledge of how to do it. :( I asked Spidey to give me a hand and he was gracious enough to set it up and let me use a little space on his site. THANKS AGAIN KEN. For all the retail lumber yards you buy your material from, there is or should be, a wholesaler nearby that supplies them. Ask the local cabinet shops where they aquire their material. I have a wholesaler just down the street and am able to purchase from them, without a resale license, merely by paying the sales tax on what I purchase. I also must purchase a minimum $150.00 of materials, but, with what I do, that has never been a problem. They carry plywoods and solid materials as well. But, there, I have the option of purchasing hardwoods in S2S ( surfaced two sides ) and getting it at approximately 25% to 30% cheaper a price than the retailers. Some will do it, and some simply won't, just because you aren't big enough fish to deal with. But, It's worth a try to get that kind of break. As well as buying the S2S lumber which needs to be cleaned up on one edge to be used, there is also the lumber you or someone you know may have that has bowed and supposedly rendered unusable. Either way, this jig will fit on your table saw and enably you to straighten one edge of that material and make it usable again.

I have sketched up a couple of pics to show you approximately what it should look like and given some instruction as to how to build it. It is really very simple to build and use. The hardest thing to do is put it on the saw and take it off and that takes about a minute each. Take a look at it and see if it will work for you and then check out sources for buying S2S lumber instead of S4S. Lets see if I can figure out how to get the URL and all that right and open it up. Oh, there aren't too many deminsions because for as many of you out there that may be interested, there are as many different saws and sizes of same. That would render most deminsions useless. You will get the idea of how to make it fit your particular saw, so, I hope this helps
