My situation was not exactly the same as yours, but it may be similar enough. On the recommendation of Martin Step, stripper canoe builder extrordinaire, I wetted out with System Three Clear Coat (because it is less viscous), then filled with West System. I applied each coat while the previous one was a bit tacky. I had no bonding problems. Best of Luck, Ken Sarkozy Kalamazoo, MI
