I'll be wood-searching in the UK soon also. A little web search (and reading PBO) comes up with Robbins who appear to be boat building specialist suppliers. They have a good basic product listing on the web and have a form for special requests. I've not used them but they may well be able to help. The URL is www.robbins.co.uk (I think)
Francis.
: I have recently succeeded in obtaining Western Red Cedar in Sunderland Tyne
: & Wear. This was after a considerable search. Is anyone aware of other
: sources of suitable timber in the UK? Alternative wood would probably
: enhance the kayak I am trying to construct.
