I'm getting close to finishing my Spring Run. I am planning to join deck and hull this weekend and installing bulkheads next week. I doubt that I will have time to get a coat of varnish on before the Port Townsend Rendezvous, but I would still like to take the nearly-finished boat up for show & tell.

Are there any steps I should take to protect the boat from 60 mph insects and ultraviolet rays on the trip to Port Townsend, or would you recommend leaving the boat at home until it is finished?
