I thought about doing that on a Ch 17' S&G, but didn't want to put in the time...I wasn't going to use deckbeams every ft., but every two feet or so, since a cambered deck shouldn't require difficult bends or twists like the hull would, but I don't know if that would work...the CLC plans require you to make your own deckbeams, so the form is already available; also there is a sheer strip that would support the ends of the strip.

I think Newfound Boatworks is selling hybrid kits...maybe their website can provide more ideas. I know it can be done, as the CLC customer's pictures show one boat done that way.
