strip deck on S & G hull without stripping?

Could i glue up stips to make a pieece about 2' wide and 19' long run a layer of glass on one side (the inside) and then put it on just like the okemme? Or is ther a reason that the okemme goes on in two pieces or a reason that i would not get a fair curve tourtuing my strip built sheet? Questions, questions, questions. Thanks, Todd
