In Response To: Vacuum bagging paddle blades (Shawn Baker)

Hi Shawn;

My glass layup buddy related a story to me some time ago about how they had just bagged some part of a pretty large sailboat hull under construction, and were ready to go home for the weekend. The vacuum pump died just as they were leaving, and they replaced it with a large Shop Vac (TM), (the real thing) and had no recourse other than to leave it for the night. He says it ended up running fine through Monday morning, 2-1/2 days later, apparently none the worse for wear! Plus, the vacuum bagging turned out fine.

I think your 15 minute limit was a bit conservative . . . Sounds like something Dale might have cut off after perhaps 10 minutes, however . . . ;-)

Trying to think of something to bag, Spidey
