Well, all hell broke loose today. We got hit with 2 1/2" hail driven by 50 MPH winds. My pickup needs a new windshield, the dents in the body make me cry (as does the state of our garden). The four kayaks on the top rack don't have a mark on them!! I am amazed. Plastic lawn chairs, buckets, and Rubermaid bins on the deck are full of holes.

The yaks involved have either Interlux Brightsides or Z-Spar Captain's varnish finish(Dean, they are the same ones I had at the symposium, and BTW thanks for the nice comments). I full well expected needing to totally sand and refinish, but they are as good as before the storm. Just thought I would pass it on for those worried about going with a wood yak..

ps, Haven't forgot about follow-up info on our vacuum bagged decks. Don't have photos yet ( my fancy digital camera is back-ordered until next week), and have been horrendously busy. Will post more info by the end of next week.
