It's not too much of a problem if you rip 2x material into 1/4" x 1.5" and then down to 3/4" x 1/4".
My Tred Avon is stripped in recycled fir, the nail holes add "character"...
: Recycle is great! Better watch out for the paint used on the sideing before.
: I don't expect too much trouble with water base produces, but be careful
: if oil base was ever used on the wood. If may prevent epoxy from sticking.
: Test out on small scrap before you start striping.
