Hi All;
I applied a finish coat of polyester resin to the hull this afternoon - A quick report:
It went on pretty effortlessly, much like epoxy, although a hint thicker than the ding-all epoxy I used. I used about 14oz, with perhaps 10-12 staying on the hull. It sheeted pretty nicely, but I do have some runs. Next comes sanding and buffing to get the "mirror up" when it hardens thoroughly.
One caution: The odor of the resin will permeate your area - I worked in the garage, and the entire house smells like Wellcraft. That stuff hasn't gotten any less odiferous . . . You can read a little more detail and see the first pic on my site, linked below. Follow the "Finishing . . ." link.
