Try the cosine wherry, I'ts a good looking pulling boat, I think that an outfit in Anacortes sells the plans. John Gardner's books have plans for peapods which could probably be adapted to strip building, a friend of mine built a 14 foot peapod from a set of molds he got from one of the old boat builders around here, beautiful boat. Hope that this gives you some ideas to explore.
