it has been done both ways. Nick's book has good suggestions for doing veneers. Laminating the veneer on top is the easiest, no doubt, but it results in a surface higher than the surrounding deck and would require care when sanding, prior to 'glass. You could eventually wind up with a good looking, smooth overlay, after final finsishing. Inlay of a veneer would be done just as it would on any other piece of work. Either way you go, I'd glass the deck AFTER doing the inlay. I assume you are talking about a stripper. You can do your inlay the full thickness of the deck material. There is a really nice picture a few threads below that show this (one of the new launch threads)..........very impressive! Talk to this gentleman.......he obviously knows what he is doing. garland
