I browsed the graphs rather quickly but noticed that there isn't much difference between Sample A (1/4" w/ 4-oz. on both sides) and Sample D (1/4" w/ 6-oz. on both sides.) With longitudinal strips, the 6-ouncers yielded at ~140psi, but the 4-ouncers yielded only a little below that, at ~130psi. Across the strips, the 6-ouncers yielded at ~50psi while the 4-ouncers yeilded at ~40psi.

So the 6-oz. lay-up is about 8% stronger lengthwise and 25% beamwise -- and 6% heavier, although I would have expected more of a weight difference -- was the weave completely filled on these samples? My quickie interpretation would be that 6-oz. wouldn't be necessary for the whole boat. Might as well do it with 4-oz. and double-up in the cockpit area. The ends of the boat wouldn't see much of the across-the-strip bending; most stress out there should be longitudinal.
