I think the Cosine only falls short in one parameter; it does not make all that good a powerboat because of the small seat at the stern. It's quite possible, however, to do a little creative arranging of the seating to better accept a motor. Of course, I havent yet tried the little electric motor I have, so the post could be premature. Also, the Cosine would not do well with a gas motor, too much weight at the narrow transom. I think you should take a second look at the Grand Laker. It's kind of like an oversized canoe with a big square transom on it.
: Bob, I know this bbs well enough that I should have started with my
: parameters. I think the second message I ever read on this board was
: "What's your height and weight and shoe size?" What I'm looking
: for is a strip-built boat to row or power, 10 HP or less, for family
: fishing--two adults and one or two kids--on quiet, Midwestern lakes and
: larger lakes like Lake of the Ozarks. Min. capacity about 1000#. Needs to
: be stable as Mama is not a great water-lover. Thanks for your sugestions,
: Tom.
