Thanks for the information guys. There doesn't seem to be a consensus on whether a skeg is needed or not. Since it is possible to add one later, I will probably wait and put one in later if I think I needs it. I will make the decision after paddling it for a while.

It will be another few days before I put the deck on so if anyone has any more information, opinions, or design ideas, please let me know ASAP. Thanks again.
