The "Mono-Brace"
In Response To: Has anyone made adjustable foot braces? (Jimmy)
Jimmy, I designed and built my own "mono-brace". It is adjustable, removable, lightweight, and easy to use and make. I have only an early photo, but have used it all summer and am happy with it. I believe it can be made entirely of wood, using rubber balls for compression. Currently, there is a spring inside to provide compression and holding power. This spring is the only piece of metal in my boat, when I find the right rubber balls, my Expedition Single will be metal free. If you want more info, contact me. I have an idea or two to improve them. Dave Colant
