Source for carbon shaft joints for paddle

Hi everyone,

I am also in the process of building a wooden paddle for my kayak. I prefer a split paddle and was looking for source for a carbon fiber joint section. Since my wife has a carbon fiber current design paddle, I send them an e-mail asking if they could supply this section of the paddle. Luckily they had a reject shaft lying around and I am getting two sets (two 6" shaft sections, the smaller shaft insert, locking pin and two drip rings per set) for CAN$ 25.25 + Shipping and Handling.

They will offer this package also to other paddle builders, depending on the quantity of rejected shafts. If they don't have a rejected one, they will charge you the full amount of the shaft. I'll let you know more when I get the parts (hopefully in a couple days).
