It is a misconception that "Fiberglass" is that skinky, nasty goo which once you smell you never forget. Fiberglass is glass fibers and like Shawn said, it is about as toxic as a drinking glass. It is just glass afterall.

The toxic stuff is the resin. The stinky stuff everyone thinks of when you say fiberglass is not really the fiberglass, it is polyester resin. Nasty stuff, avoid breathing the fumes. Epoxy is less stinky, but you should avoid the fumes as well. You can wear a respirator and the stuff is ok to work with.
