The Wee Lassie II from Mac Mcarthy's book is 13.5' long by 29". Just about perfect for what you need. It handles well and is a double paddle canoe design. You can add longer decks if you desire, though the boat handles a fair chop fairly well with decks per plan, which are around 18" ( i think???). I built one and another guy, Ross I believe, has built one too. Mac's book is around $20.00 FEATHERWEIGHT BOATBUILDING. He has a web page www.feathercanoes.com you can order there, and the patterns are $20.00 also, but the book has both offsets for the Wee lassie and the Wee lassie II. I think????? I've flyfished for panfish out of mine a few times and have had no problems, except for my pathetic casting skills (just bought a flyrod this spring). The boat is quite handsome and fairly lightweight...no bad curves, so stripping is straightforward.
