I'm not worried about the beef; there's plenty there even without glassing the top. I'm concerned that the skirt might come off too easy, or be too hard to put on with cold gloved hands. After reading the responses, I think it'll be fine. I can almost pick up the boat by the spray skirt, but it pops off. Prob'ly 35# pull to get the skirt off. The coaming is one of the highest stress points on the boat, getting in and out. It's plenty strong with six 3/8 x 3/32 laminations. I can always add laminations later if I decide I want to.
