: Hi, I just finished building my Georgian Bay kayak. Already to start my
: secound boat. I am looking for a set of plans to build a boat just for
: fishing. I am interested in something between 12 and 13 feet long and 29
: and 30 inches wide. Does anyone have any suggestions. Must be for strip
: building. Have discovered one drawback to building your own boat. Seem to
: spend alot of time talking to people about it when I am trying to go
: paddling.
and in parking lots.....and going down the road.....and getting gas at the gas station....and getting a reservation at the campgrounds......and passing houses on the river....you get the idea...
In addition to the Wee Lassie and the Wee Lassie II is the Puddle Duck from Gil Gilpatrick's book, "Building A Strip Canoe" (I think he has 7 designs/ 1/2 size plans in his book) or the Laker. The advantage to these is that they are very wide (probably wider than 30", more like 33") and you can stand up in them.
