I too have been pondering a skin and frame kayak and in searching through this and other web sources have seen several references to hypalon. My question is: What is it? Some talk about it as a really toxic liquid type stuff to apply to canvas while others refer to it as the waterproof fabric itself. Is it both? On the same lines, is there a good waterproofing/sealing solution that is relatively clear, e.g. not paint? Seems like varnish/urethane type stuff would crack or peal.
Sorry if these questions are covered in "the books". I've ordered them, but haven't recieved them yet.
Thanks,
Bill
