: Number 10 cotton duck, or #10 duck is not 10 ounce fabric, it is closer to 15
: ounce per square yard. #10 duck is a fairly stiff cloth with an
: abrasion-resistant weave, that is also fairly pucture resistant.

My reference was to George Putz book where he calls for "10 oz." cotton duck( canvas ). I don't know one from the other, as I've never worked with it or as of yet, shopped for it. Will look for it locally first, if I decide to go that route. Am also looking at building it in plywood as per Mike Hanks plywood Walrus. Just checking all avenues.

: Denim is a weave for clothing, so it is soft. Jeans have to bend, so you can
: get your legs in!

There is also denim that is nearly as thick and strong as lighter canvas. Thicker than you would want for your levis. It will stretch a little more, perhaps, than canvas, but, will seal up with a painted coating, I'm guessing. This is not neccessarily an option at this time, but, merely an inquiry.

: You will have no trouble at all getting #10 duck from Seattle Fabrics by
: mail-order. See link below.

If #10 duck is around 15 oz. then what # would 10 oz. duck be?? That is what I'm looking for. Thanks for the link. I'll check it out and see if they have what I'm interested in.
