so... I think it works like this:
1. wet the plywood with PR - wait 24 hours
2. although thr PR layer is NOT dry, due to contact with oxygen, lay the FG on the wet/sticky PR, & then saturate the FG with more PR - wait 24 hours.
3. again, the PR will not be completely dry. mix wax/styrene with PR & paint over the wetted FG. - wait 24 hours. This time the PR WILL be completely dry, because the wax/styrene seals the PR from oxygen.
4. that last layer is going to be very very hard to sand. is that last layer what everybody call "gelkote" ?
or is the gelkote another layer over the wax/styrene/PR layer ?
or is gelkote a meterial that can replace the w/s/PR layer ?
what are the advantages/ disadvantages of epoxy over PR ?
why are we using epoxy ?
Is it just because epoxy is transparent ?
