Hi Erez;

Almost, but there's a few things I apparently didn't get across.

Epoxy is stronger and easier/safer to work with than PR, so I built my boat using epoxy over the glass. PR was the final finish, a varnish replacement. I only put on one coat of PR, with the wax added so it could be buffed. Since I haven't decided yet how well it really worked out, I'm withholding judgement!

If you're doing PR layups, as soon as it hardens (it will remain suface tacky) the next coat goes on. No need to wait 24 hours. It depends on how much catalyt you add, could be 15 mins!

Gelcoat is something else, one poster said it is pigmented PR, but I'm not sure of that. I have never used it. If it is, it should go right over your layup (epoxy or PR) just like mine. I have asked him in a post above to return to this discussion and help out. I wonder, for instance, if the wax-styrene mix can be added to gelcoat to get it to surface harden? In a mold where it is sprayed in, oxygen is blocked automatically.

Good questions, Spidey
