I started plotting a few points to see what happened. I used station 14 as my sample. I drew a grid of 2 inch squares to correspond to the waterline and buttocks spacing. I labelled the bottom horizontal lines 0 and the top one 16 to correspond the waterlines. I chose a vertical line as my centerline and labelled the vertical line on each side as bottocks 2. The next vertical on each side was buttocks 4 and so on.
Then I plotted my widths. On WL8 I measured 12&3/4 inches to each side. On WL10 I measured 12&1/2 inches to each side. On WL12 I measured 12 inches to each side. On WL14 I measured 10&13/16 inches to each side. And on WL 16 I measured 6&3/8 inces on each side. You should start to see the hull taking shape upside down.
Then I plotted my heights on the buttocks lines. On BUT2 I measured up 16&7/16 inches. On BUT4 I measured up 16&5/16 inches. On BUT6 I measured up 16 inches. On BUT8 I measured up 15&1/2 inches. On BUT10 I measured up 14&5/8 inches. On BUT12 I measured up 12&1/8 inches. On the centerline I measured up 16&1/2 inches, getting the measurement from the PROFILE line of the table.
I located the sheer at the intersection of a line 7&11/16 up and 12&13?16 over from the centerline.
Try working through a few forms like this and see if it starts to make a little sense.
