Hi Gary, I put the first coat of varnish on my boat yesterday and hope to get several more before the rendezvous. I would say you should try to put on a few coats if possible, at least on the deck. My second boat had several coats on it before it went outside and still had a fair amount of wood color change after sitting outside for a day. I think it would be better to have a little UV protection while it sits on the beach with all the other boats. I only waited 2 days between the last fill coat on the shear, 3 days from the last fill coat on the deck before varnish. I hope thats enough. It didn't effect the last boat which I did the same thing.
