Sealing underside of S&G deck question

When you seal the underside of your deck on a stitch and glue boat (CH17) is it a good idea to put the deck on before the epoxy cures so that it will cure in the final shape rather than curing flat and then being bent. Does anybody have an opinion on which would be stronger?
