Sorry, I think you misunderstood. I was planning on installing the deck immediately after sealing the underside, ie. while it is still wet, or at least tacky.

: If there is a chance that your deck could cure wider than the hull, maybe if
: the epoxy in the seams is still a bit soft, then it's prudent to tape the
: deck to the hull. Make sure that you put plastic on the temporary forms
: and both ends of your yak to keep from glueing the deck to the hull before
