I put the front pegs on the Guillemot triple after I put the deck and hull together. That way I could sit in the kayak and try the pegs in different positions (height up the side of the kayak) until I found a good location. My wife held them through the front hatch when I tried them, and vice versa. Just make sure you bond the blocks in place BEFORE you put in the front bulkhead.
