Time heals all silicone

: Kent,

: I'm putting some silicone hatch seals on my wife's boat according to your
: 11-17-99 post. I left the Saran wrap on the front hatch gasket for 20
: hours and when I pulled up the wrap it was sticking to the silicone and
: the middle of the gasket was not cured. I patched it up with more silicone
: and will wait another 2 days before pulling the wrap.

: I left the rear gasket alone. I'll pull the wrap tomorrow night to give it
: plenty of time to cure. Pulling at it now, I can see that the Saran wrap
: is adhering to this silicone gasket as well.

: Should I have spread some Vasaline to the bottom side of the wrap?

: Any suggestions would be appreciated.

: Thanks,

: Gary B.

Once exposed to air, silicone will cure, it may just take time. 20 hrs is not necessarily long. And the wrap only should be fine. tiny bit more info below:
