I'm willing to bet that %98 of those hits are search engines "crawling" your site, this is true for my kayaking site.
If you look at the web file time access statistics you'll probably see that EVERY photo and link are accessed within half a second of each other. Far too fast for any human to read and follow every link. You can turn off this web crawling if you know how to set up a file called robots.txt
